Preparing for your first consultation

Sep 26
1 min read

A little preparation can help you get the most from your first conversation with our team. You do not need to have everything organised before contacting us.

A brief outline

Make a short note of the matter you would like to discuss. Include the main dates, the people or organisations involved and what you would like help with. If you have a court date or another deadline, mention it when arranging the appointment.

Relevant documents

Have any relevant correspondence and documents to hand. These might include letters, court papers, agreements or a short timeline. Our team can tell you which documents would be useful and how to provide them.

Questions to ask

Write down the questions that matter most to you. You may wish to discuss the available options, likely next steps, timescales, costs and who will be handling your matter.

Next steps

At the end of the conversation, ask what information is still needed and what happens next. Where further work is proposed, the scope of that work and the arrangements for legal costs can be discussed with you.
